Main Tera Hero is a 2014 Indian Hindi-language adventure comedy – drama film directed by David Dhawan and produced by Shobha and Ekta Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures. Nargis Fakhri, Varun Dhawan, and Ileana D’Cruz star in the remake of the 2011 Telugu film Kandireega. The producers of the film, in response to the success of the soundtrack song “Palat – Tera Hero Idhar Hai,” attached a remix version of it to the theatrical prints of Ragini MMS 2, which was released on 21 March 2014—rather than the theatrical trailer—marking the first such case. Some critics compared the song “Palat – Tera Hero Idhar Hai” to the song “Jahan Teri Yeh Nazar Hai” from the film Kaalia, which was released in 1981.
