It was included in his 3rd studio album (20 17 ). Subsequent to the record’s release it charted at number 8 on the UK Singles Chart. It was released as a promotional single after Sheeran’s performance at the 2018 Brit Awards.

The song will be the 12th and last track on Ed Sheeran’s third record in studio’s version. In a meeting using MTV, Sheeran revealed that the song is all about his late grandma. He explained”She was in a hospital near my house where I was making the album so I saw her a long time whilst making the album and she passed on while I was at the studio. So that is my first reaction for whatever happens to me, good or bad, pick up a guitar.” In addition, he said that the song is likely to”really make you cry”.Sheeran hadn’t intended to put the song in the record’Divide’ because it had been a personal tribute to his grandmother which was written by the viewpoint of his mum. His father first indicated that he should engage in with the song at his funeral, which he did, and his grandfather then urged that it should be included at the record.
